What Happens After I Buy Concert or Event Tickets Online.

If you haven't read my hubpost on finding a reputable ticket site, please check it out. Otherwise, let me explain what happens after you buy your event tickets online.

You've filled out the order form and confirmed your order. Great. You're going to the concert or game of the year. But you probably still have some questions.

What kind of receipt will I get for my online ticket order? Who will send my tickets? When will I get my tickets?

If you ordered from a site that lists multiple ticket sellers, you will receive an email. The ticket order receipt will go to the email you entered when you ordered the tickets. Save this email. Hopefully, you won't need it. But it's always a good idea to save the email, and write down your order number and the contact information of the ticket seller.

That email will have the following information: Your order number, details about the event you have ordered tickets for, the contact information of the ticket seller and some other details such as seat numbers, etc.

Sometimes the seller will not be the same as the site you ordered from. Just like ebay many sites just list tickets for multiple sellers. So the contact information may be a person or broker in your local area.

Now when are you going to get those tickets? If you've ordered at least 5-7 days ahead of time, the tickets will usually ship out within 24 hours via FedEx. It's always a good idea to call the seller within a day or so to confirm that they have processed your order and have shipped it out. Using a ticket tracking tool will also allow you to follow the orders progress.

If you need tickets for a next or same day event that's possible. I will cover how to order tickets on short notice in an upcoming article. For now, I will just say if you need the tickets fast or have to travel to the event, a good seller will make arrangements. It happens everyday.

If you're on the other end of the spectrum. Meaning you ordered your tickets early. For example, your ordered NFL tickets in July for a game in October. The tickets will not ship out until approximately 2 weeks before the event. So don't worry. If your order has been confirmed, be patient. The tickets will be there soon.

FedEx requires that the tickets be delivered to the address on the credit card you ordered with. And a signature is required. If you need the tickets delivered to another location, you will be required to send in a fax of your photo ID and the credit card you ordered with. This is a requirement for the seller in order to deliver to an alternate address. So don't get worried, it's not a scam it's for your protection.

Hopefully, that helps clear up some of the common questions customers have after they have ordered tickets online.

Once again please read the article on finding a reputable event ticket site online before makeing any purchase.
